What is evil?

Jan 18, 2023

Cleanly separate from manmade notions created to divide; undermine the presence of purity in the world; or endorse negative power and authority. Sustain false accusations without being seriously affected. Consistently exert a strong boundary and say no to what is wrong. Take action where necessary to stop malicious intent.

Evil is a cultural notion tied to numerous historical settings with a wide variety of definitions. It is a label determined and applied by a human being. Meanwhile we all know about negative versus positive. There is definitely negativity and there are also negative acts. For some there is undoubtedly evil. And then there is that other source on this planet, besides just the way of purity.

How to sort all this out when it comes to evaluating a situation or making a decision, which will always have consequences? There are several things we can say. Firstly that other source is neutral. It is not positive or negative. It simply replicates and self destructs - and has entered this reality. It is when this meets the human being that there can be more of a problem. If that individual does not have a strong sense of self, they cannot say "no" and may not even recognise what's not aligned with pure love. Their personal field can then easily become host to that second source where their lifeforce will obey merely an algorithm which is divorced from all of nature.

Here we have human agency conditioned by something non-human, from another place, which simply feeds, repeats and self perpetuates. This is very different from "evil" which is a manmade category, used by someone to say something or someone else is wholly negative. Such a term is often wielded to condemn and destroy by a non-consensual source of authority with a preconceived agenda. It also denies the power we all have to choose, change, make mistakes, and exercise healthy control. What's perhaps most significant here is the person using the label. All too often, it is to them, that someone originally said ... "no".
