When we lose our felt sense of self in the body, a space opens up in your personal field ripe for occupation by others. In many ways this movement is purely logical: something empty must be filled. But the result is extremely painful for the person concerned.
Firstly you will end up catering for the wishes of others more than yourself.
Secondly, it will be harder to know what you feel or who you are, which in extreme cases disrupts the hormonal balance and leaves your system vulnerable to bacteria and parasites.
Thirdly, you start to reside more in other realms beyond the body where the bulk of your personal power lies constantly beyond your reach, diminishing your ability to be seen or heard in the real world.
The outcome is inevitably control issues - because you are out of control - and powerlessness - because you have less and less power in the lived domain of everyday experience where it really counts. Weight gain, obsession, always being on the move, and addiction creep in - in a vain attempt to bring more ballast to your presence in the world, only fuelling the cycle more ferociously.
Pain and trauma often leads us to lose our sense of self. We willingly evacuate our body space because it is too agonising to stay. Bullying, family invasion and spirit attachment is another reason: those close to us may have lost their own connection and so want to usurp yours instead. And often quite innocently, we give our power away without knowing the implications. Only when it is too late do we realise the reality of our existence - that we have lost our own independent existence.
Facing the fear of reclaiming ourselves and the value of our difference while being unhooked from those influences binding us is key to regaining our own personal sovereignty in these situations. Rebalancing the passive and active aspects of our identity then allows us to successfully engage with who and what we must ... without drowning in the silence, tendency to withdraw and being rebelliously different, which we may well have been taking refuge in.
We exist: and that is a beautiful thing, whatever form it takes and with all its imperfections. Use this purification track today to strengthen, ground and restore your own felt sense of self in the body - so you live your own life in healthy interdependence with the people and things around you.

I am always purifying. My tracks take any personal purification deeper and using one enables you to start harnessing your own source connection. Remember that you are also listening for your ancestors and your family line, just as much as for yourself.
Play while you meditate, do things, lie in the bath … until all the words go in without losing awareness or falling asleep. Listen for yourself or for someone else, naming them silently within at the beginning. You can also play the recording with the sound turned down in the background, while you are busy or sleeping.
Available for listening online and downloading (via mobile phones, please use DropBox) until Sat Apr 27, 9:30am British Summer Time. After this, please purchase from the purification tracks page:
I work entirely by donation. If you would like to show your appreciation for these tracks or send a top-up, you can give something here:
